Hot water system sprung a leak?
Unfortunately, once your hot water system has sprung a leak, 99% of the time it means purchasing a new unit.
What you can do though, to prevent damage or injury, is to activate the isolation valve on the hot water unit (which all systems should have). The isolation valve is installed to enable you to shut the water off, in situations just like this, to avoid further pressure build-up.
Once the unit’s water supply has been shut off, you’ll find that the leak will ease as it’s no longer under intense pressure.
Having no hot water can be frustrating for the whole family, but it doesn’t need to be for long. We’ve got temporary hot water units on hand (as well as new, permanent units), so you can get back in your own shower within a matter of hours.
